Teachers has been dealing with the continuous changes in inventions. In order for us to achieve and install a life long skills to our students and to meet the standards of being a 21st century learner, teachers delve the deepest strategies to motivate them.

The present generation (21st century learners) are what we also called as techy generation.

Students are now into gadgets and it seems like it is the air they breathe. Morning, Afternoon, and Evening are filled with their creative and curious minds. OThey are dealing with the new inventions almost the entire day that they forget to enjoy life outside of that box.

Kinesthetics and Recreation activities are being denied and completely forgotten.

Parents being busy with work is also one of the reason why the young generation at this moment are being glued to watching television, playing PSP games or just chatting the whole day. Without the motivation of the people that surrounds them made them neglect the fact f being outside the house.

Some evident reasons are being too protective - parents doesn’t like their child to get dirty outside or doesn’t like the child to get bruises because of playing.

What helps this negligence in Sports is what we called Time Management.

HOW TO MOTIVATE CHILDREN TO PLAY SPORTS?

  1. TIME MANAGEMENT

Time management is the process of organizing and arranging tasks in a proper way in order to finish activities more quickly and efficiently.

It's a way to divide time for specific purposes and things you need to accomplish in an effort to make sure you both have an appropriate time to do each task and don't take too long. It enables you to work more productively even if you're under pressure and have too little time. If you fail to do this, you will cause lack of efficiency in your work and over-stress yourself.

As a parent, we need to balance our time and give some time to our child. You may think this is impossible for you because of the deadlines you need to make. You may wonder why other people are able to achieve so much more with their time when we all have the same amount of hours in a day. Maybe you just don't know how to effectively organize the time you have.

Big achievers have been able to harness and use this skill effectively towards productivity. This soft skill can help improve your abilities to function, work, and process. It enables you to work smarter and harder not faster.

2. DON’T TURN THEM DOWN

Turning down a request from your child about playing in the park is one of the reason why they don’t bother to ask and play with their friends.

Children as young as 2 years old loves to play, it is actually their nature. However, as parents there are times that it is too hard to keep in their playful pace. So we let them be stuck in just one area which is not good. They will grow up not having too much confidence of theirselves which leads them to be just at home and be alone.

3. WALK AN EXTRA MILE

If you notice them slacking and they are lacking the interest to play sports. As a parent, we need to be mindful.

We can actually encourage our child to go out and ask their friends to hang out. Im some situation we can actually invite our children to go watch a football match or basketball match. Specially it is had to motivate teens to play sports, we need to walk an extra mile. We can enroll them to a sport training - not just them but including you.
Tho teenagers want to do it just in their own.

In summary, it all boils down to be being a mother, father or teacher to those children who lacks interest in sports. TIME is more important because without it we cannot finish any activities we would like to accomplish.

Great post i agree. I also think that parents setting an example with technology is key. Its all good and well to encourage them to play sports but if your on the sideline on your phone what message does that send

As I say it all boils down to Time Management. As the parents cannot also neglect their responsibilities both to their work and children. That’s why time management is a key. Hoe this help, I am not a parent yet but I am actually a daughter, i am stressing out of how my parents had raised me. 😊

Parents in todays society face different problems that parents say 20 years ago. I agree time management is key. I think that parents dont have much spare time and that is how they convince themselves that they should use their screens around children when really they should be more engaged.

I am from New Zealand and have moved to Spain and it is refreshing here to see that parents are alot more involved with their children (running around the playground etc)

That’s true, they are more busier and less time with their child.

That’s actually good that you are sorrounded with great people now.

Very nice Blog... love it...
