A University of Pennsylvania understudy who bafflingly vanished in California a week ago has now been discovered dead - and his passing is being researched as a manslaughter, specialists said today.
The group of 19-year-old Blaze Bernstein was found around 2 p.m. Tuesday in the brush encompassing Borrego Park in Foothill Ranch - the recreation center where he vanished seven days sooner, the Orange County Sheriff's Department said today. The precipitation in the zone helped authorities discover the body, the sheriff's office said.
Burst Bernstein's dad, Gideon Bernstein, was enthusiastic at a news meeting today as he stood grasping his better half. He said the family is "crushed" by the news, calling his child "a splendid, bright and charming man."
Burst Bernstein, who had been home in Southern California for winter break, met with a companion last Tuesday and the two headed to Borrego Park, witnesses told the sheriff's area of expertise.
