If you have not figured out by now..then hang on, because I am about to tell you!
During the financial crisis of 2007-2009 it was discovered that this country (actualy the world) had received a fatal gunshot wound, and a bandaid was placed on that gunshot wound. For about the last 11 years I have been watching how the patient responded. The patient warshed up and then put on clean clothes. After that I watched as the patient renturned to the weight room and started lifting weights
I noticed a direct coralation between the amount of weight that the patient lifted and the amount of blood that was lost, but smelling salts were continuly shoved up the patients nose and the patient continued to preform well
So more and more weight was added, then another one of the gym members noticed that the power lifter/patient's shoe was untied. Suddenly nearly everyone in the weight room started to say that the patient was not going to preform well because his shoe was untied. Yes an untied shoe is a problem, but I think the larger problem is the amount of blood that the guy is loosing.
The worlds financial system is like the weight lifter who has a gunshot wound, ad some people think that the band-aide fixed the wound...but the band aid just concealed the problem.
Today I heard on a financial channel the host ask a doctor when he thought that the U.S. ecconomy would recover from the chinese virus? I want to talk about the question.
The lesson that I see in that question is 'when can we continue to kick the can down the street? I do not think that most people want to deal with reality until reality slaps them acrost the face...thoes people just want to continuly pick the low hanging fruit
The problem that I have with that is that I like to think of myself as a compassionate guy and I am quite confident that the fincial house of cards will soon colapse
In my mind the problem can be summed up by reading the caption on the following picture:
The number one preperation that people need to take is to realize that the current financial system is controled by mammon
mammon is a financial system based on greed. Even though it is currently necessary for people to use a finical system that does not mean that everyone needs place all of there confidence in a system that by design will fail!
Once a person realizes that they will automatically look for ways to lessen there dependence on the current financial system. With that realized a person will begin to realize that people actually need community.
The next step is to think about what a person would have need of when the economy falters. I think that a person would do well to familiarize themselves with a basic homestead. Maby you would say that you do not have a lot of space...to that I would recommend keeping a few rabbits. a few rabbit cages can be kept in a realitivly small space, and they breed like...well they breed like rabbits. Basically at that point a person would be in control of a meat production facility!
Perhaps you would also like to have some eggs, of course it would be easy to keep a few chickens (a hen is the girl chicken, and the hens will lay eggs even if there is no male-rooster present) but if you want baby chickens then they need both a hen and a rooster.
Perhaps you have not considered another bird that is slightly more complicated to care for, and thoes birds are ducks (Kaki Cambell Ducks) are able to lay a lot of eggs.
The thing is it is not hard to learn this type of information, but start learning this information now. There are many videos on youtube that can teach a person how to breed rabbits and butcher the rabbits.
One of the projects that I plan on working on this year is to grow potatoes in old leaves instead of dirt
(Before I think I had even heard of the Ruth Stout method my neighbor and I dug up some potatoes that he had growing in a pile of leaves that he had raked up...so in honor of what my neighbor taught me, I will call what I am planning to do the 'Ruth Stout - Charlie method)
But today my dad brought me home two Youkon Gold seed potatoes (did you know that the stores spray a chemical on most potatoes. The chemical stops the potatoes from producing more potatoes.)
