solidarity against tyranny 💪

Hong Kong needs to learn from Macau (where one country-two systems is implemented there as well) and figure out what has gone wrong. People in Macau are happy and don't fear their northern big brother. Schools across Macau raise the Chinese flag and sing the national anthem in the morning but most schools in Hong Kong are totally anti-China. Young people in Hong Kong are stressed out due to the exorbitant real estate prices and traffic congestion, not to mention the lack of job security and adequate pension programs. The smart and capable ones are either moving to the Greater Bay Area to pursue a better career or emigrate to other locations in the world. While the common ones are stuck in the bind and refuse to change. They have this warped identity crisis and unless they can come out it, their future is as gloom as a dark shadow in the back alley. Learning English is important but being able to speak Mandarin fluently is more essential. The dilemma is young people in China are extremely patriotic and love their country because they are reaping great social and economic benefits from a rich and powerful China while young kids in Hong Kong are hateful, resentful, hopeless, and grossly ignorant. They don't have a balanced world view and cannot tell fake news from real ones. Their lack of analytical skills is appalling. The Hong Kong government needs to do a lot more to guide these people and help them bone up their fighting spirits so they can become a productive and innovative workforce. Continue to bitch daily ain't going to help. Don't get swayed and manipulated by their ill-intended teachers and local politicians. Once they are labeled a rioter and get arrested, their future is doomed. Stop dreaming about overthrowing the government and making Hong Kong an independent state because this option won't work, why? Hong Kong relies completely on China for water and food supplies, and the majority of capital inflows is from the mainland. Assuming that Hong Kong becomes a country, no one will recognize it so its currency will tank and because it is so small, it won't be able to afford its military. Most foreign investments will be gone and the entire financial market (including real estate) will collapse overnight. These young people will be left with no choice but to kill each other off in order to seize whatever resources that are left for them. It will be mad Max a billion times over.
