Lack of honor can be compared to the act of desertion in the military. When a country lacks honor its very life is threatened and it's people desert their post for whatever reason they deem fit. Just like when an army without a flag leaves a country it is sure to cause a problem, the lack of a flag is a clear sign of lack of honor. Of course desertion is a big problem with the armed forces, but there is also a lack of honor amongst politicians, judges, clergy, journalists, etc.
Lack of honor among governments at all levels, not just the political kind, is really getting out of hand. Lack of integrity at the governmental level is not a new phenomenon. For centuries every country has had a lack of honor among its government officials.
The lack of honor in our government right now is totally unacceptable. The level of incompetence and corruption within our federal government is absolutely disgraceful and no one should be allowed to walk around with a badge and a gun without some form of honorable acknowledgement or consequence. A lot of the lack of honor in our government today is caused by those who never served in the military. They are in charge right now and they have to do something about it.
It is not just a big problem within our own government, it's a problem for humanity as a whole. If a government lacks honor among its people that government will lack honor amongst its nations. What's going to happen? Is there going to be peace on earth?
The lack of honor in government is nothing new. As far back as history can tell us, lack of honor has plagued governments at all levels and in every civilization. In fact, many of the greatest leaders in the history of mankind, including Lincoln, Churchill, and Roosevelt, were not exactly "kingmakers" by any stretch of the imagination. One of the biggest problems with lack of honor in government is that those who are in power usually do not know what to say because they lack the courage of their words. They hide behind the symbol of the office they are holding, rather than admit to anything. That's how I feel about the current situation with the Obama Administration, and I'm sure it's the same for many others out there.
If we can't have a president or members of the legislature that are willing to step forward and tell the American people the truth without hiding behind symbols, then we need to elect those who aren't afraid to be called to account and tell the truth. That's how change happens. I don't care whether you agree with me or not, it's time to start holding those accountable that are in a position to shape our future not only in this country but all across the world. It's time to stop watching television and start hearing from those who are willing to make the change necessary. Let's do this.
