Honor death

Carlos Fuentes qualified death as an enemy, even as a rival when he takes away a loved one. Sentenced: "How unfair, how damn, what a bitch is death that does not kill us, but those we love." And the death of a loved one always hurts proportionally to how much we enjoy life at his side.

But considering that death is the only thing that we have safe in life, we must honor that through enjoying the best every moment. Recently I had the opportunity to share with children of a Rural Primary School in Oaxaca the teaching of respect for life through the protection of an animal species in danger of extinction. Girls and boys learned that different species of turtles are threatened by unnatural circumstances to their environment. For some new knowledge, for others thanks to the knowledge society, reinforcement of what is already known. One of them made reference to the video that circulates so much in social networks about a turtle that a straw is extracted from one of its nostrils.

While the environmental activist explained to children and their mothers the importance of having habits that do not generate risks to other species, nature decided to shake consciences with a tremor. As some adults shouted, there were children who cared about the turtles they were about to release. One of them asked if the turtles were well. It was the same girl who cried because one of the turtles was attacked by a crab before reaching the sea. The turtle was saved, the crab maybe ate something else and the girl enjoyed helping a life take its course.

And it is that life is about it, to be occupied because others are well, even though there are circumstances that can not be controlled. Death is the destiny of all life, it is, quoting again Carlos Fuentes, "an almighty queen who preceded us and will continue here when we disappear." And to honor the inevitable, we must enjoy life. One way of doing this is by focusing our daily actions on others having a good life, like a girl who frees turtles, or like a granddaughter who takes care of her grandparents at a distance and moves her working life to a space that Allow them to visit more often.

Life next to the people we love consists of treasuring moments of happiness, regardless of the circumstances that sometimes seem impossible obstacles to overcome. Turtles have a life full of natural and artificial threats, but they have girls and boys who look after them well. Grandparents, as well as all the people we love, also have natural threats, but in turn they have granddaughters who become their daughters to see that they are well.

The inevitable will come and it will undoubtedly be painful, but it is the moments of happiness generated in life that will allow us to honor the death of our loved ones.
