As we get older the more friends and Family slip away from us.
I just lost a dear friend to a job site accident. It has stirred up all sorts of memories and emotions. Here's a picture of us building our home with our other friend Ryan J.
I initially met Ryan at Selkirk Music Professional Music Program. We both loved music and enjoyed playing music together over the years.
Ryan was the reason we decided to buy Raw land and build our house. We brainstormed the layout of the house and designed it on Graph paper. Here's what I submitted to our Regional District for plans.
I scribbled down a lumber list as Ryan calculated in his head how many studs, posts, joists, rafters and sheets of plywood would be needed. I had been in construction for years but did not have the ability to figure that out at that stage in my life. I was impressed at Ryan's skills and enthusiasm.
I was excited but scared to tackle the building project but thanks to his spark and encouragement we decided to tackle this. We had lots of help from family and friends and want to thank everyone one involved. We had to be like monkeys to get the job done.
Ryan and I used to play in a band together called 'Mad Monkeys'.
Ryan helped me get the house framed up and then went and helped someone else on their building project. He also travelled and lived his life making friends wherever he was. Ryan's spark was so bright people were drawn to him.
I carried on finishing our house and incorporated a studio space into the design. Here's a song Ryan and I recorded together in the studio that he helped build.

Ryan was so talented in so many areas. Tragically we lost him last week. This hits our Community hard as he was very kind, caring and helpful to so many people.
Thanks for all you have done for us Ryan. We love you.
