With worldwide aclaim, the highly anticipated film adaptation of Stephen King's "IT" lept onto the big screen, opening #1 in the box office while also becoming the highest grossing horror movie of all time. IT is holding an 85% on rotten tomatoes and has creeped kids and adults out for the past month now.
What's so great about IT?
The film was praised for its use of color, which delivered a vibrant, eerie tone that was visually pleasing and at the right times, creepy.
The evil clown was perfectly protrayed by actor Bill Skarsgard, who, along with some very newage special effects completed the illlusion of the terrifying clown monster.
The sinister monster offers up jump scares, terrific bellowing monster noises, and some fantastic vidual special effects that make it clear, this is no regular clown...
In one memorable scene, the kids watch slides on an old projector in a dark room, when the slideshow loses control and begins to project stark images of the menacing clown. The monster feeds on the fear of the children, leaving parents alone, as far as we know...
Preying on the middle school children in the film, Pennywise the clown pops up in different places to scare the kids as they try to navigate their lives in the wake of the recent events.
IT is definitely a movie a true horror fan would love. Stephen King is the master of horror and the makers of this film did it justice with this adaptation of the classic novel. With big sound and larger than life imagery and effects, this one is a moviegoers dream.
Check out IT before ITS gone from theatres! A spooky Halloween flick for the season of scare! :)
