How to host a SteemIt node?

in host •  7 years ago

I wish there were some better details on it as well as some monetary benefit for people to run an IPFS node. Without a little bit of money, it's tough to get people to burn out a computer faster. I've got a pretty fast PC, but would like to at least disperse the cost of running a node on it. We do things out of the kindness of our hearts, but that's not a business model, that's pan handling
. Is anyone else looking at how to resolve this problem?

I'm looking for something like that...

So it is called a witness on this blockchain and i find it troubling that this answer wasn't come to earlier. I did enough searching to run across it on YouTube of all places. Likely because current witnesses have to do a TON of work to get enough votes to get on top. They probably don't want the competition. Either way, you need to put a lot of time in as an expert/SME to get the required votes to make it to the top of the Witness list.

Owh lol I will try again after a few years. Thanks for the info anyway :)
