Buddhist monks in Thailand trying to bring bitcoin pyramid

The community of practicing Buddhists in Thailand has become an object of interest of unknown attackers who were trying to attract monks to participate on a bitcoin pyramid.
According to the Bangkok Post, members of communities practising Buddhist monks in many temples in Thailand have asked people who also passed themselves off as members of the Buddhist community and invited to "invest in bitcoin" donations of the faithful. Members of criminal groups had infiltrated the monks, offering them a generous profit in the implementation of the "minimum investment" - 38 000 Thai baht (about 1,117 U.S. dollars). 700-800 followers of Buddhism agreed to invest in a fraudulent scheme, and the profit they promised to pay after 300 days. Also the attackers tried to create a referral network, promising the monks extra profit if they can convince others to invest in "bitcoin Foundation".
The gang also allegedly remembered a senior monk as the main investor of the Fund, which, according to them, were supported by the state Bank. Both these statements were later proven false.
Too much of the profits promised to investors, has caused some suspicion of the monks, therefore, representative part of the Buddhist community, alarmed at the promises of criminals, (Wat Pa Kluya), asked the Department of special investigation in Thailand that they used measures to study and cessation of gang activity.
One of the monks, who were persuaded to invest in the pyramid, said in an interview with the Bangkok Post:
I was deceived by the gang members. But I never joined them, I was not a supporter of them. But I found out that the gang, by penetrating in temples, managed to convince about 700-800 other Buddhists in the United States Uttaradit, Pathum Thani and Chiang Mai (Chiang Mai) to invest their funds.
According to regional newspaper the Nation, today representatives of the Buddhist community did not have time to suffer losses. However, despite the fact that the proposals offered to potential investors are, too good to be true, the likelihood that someone still will be casted on the hook of the attackers remains.
