i admit, it's probably not the sight for everyone but boy oh boy oh boy is it damn hot today here in the uk, i feel like i'm abroad somewhere, i've got the door of the van cranked, i've got the fans on, i'm just trying to keep whatever air is moving moving, i can feel the van taking all the direct hit of the sunshine on the roof and i now know what a baked potato feels like. i remember it being hot last year but wow this kinda hit me outta nowhere.

it does mean that i have to move a few things around to make sure i can get something outta the day if i wanna work, i have to get a bit creative of days like this and i end up writing and gaming rather than working on projects and course recording, i tend to do all the prep of the course notes, filling in the descriptions and doing the tags instead of physical recording, i need to have the studio lights on and the green screen down and with them on i'd be dripping wet so no recording for the next few days! :)

my ghetto fabulous ipad2 gives my imac teathered 4g life so i can work, it's battered as hell but it just keeps on going, it's been repaired once but it's on it's last legs, i have to have it here in the roof to get a good signal, i spent a good few days trying to find the best location in the van to get the best signal, obviously it can get hot up there so i've got a fan blowing on the back of the battery just in case! - only when it's sunny thou :)

next up i've got the dual purpose fan that can either just have the cold fan running at super low power and just heating things up, i would literally die if that heater was on right now and the hammock down, if it get's really overwhelming i just get naked and get in the hammock and pass out after rocking myself off to sleep for a bit. it's kinda the best

it would be a perfect day to give the car a wash as well but where i am does not allow for us to use water for washing the cars, i'd have to go away from here and do it at one of the many service stations but i'm not in the mood to be getting in a hot car to drive to do that, that would be make a typical fathers day dad too, doing chores and tweaking the car. i'm not into that. i know the car would probably love me for it thou (because cars have feelings right? RIGHT?)

i've got the whole door area open with the fly netting across, i normally have it half but i feel i need to crank it today especially when the weather is going to be another 3/4 degrees hotter than what it is right now for at least four hours, i've gotta prepare. it's interesting how everything switches to that kinda lockdown when the hot weather comes, i imagine that is something i've gotta be more aware of when i'm on the road travelling in a van, making sure i have additional water, wipes and hand fans!

lastly, if your sitting at your machine all day seriously invest in some usb fans, they are quite cheap, tend to last quite some time and if nothing else move the stagnent air around, i've got one positioned above me blowing down which makes all the difference, you can hook it up to your machine so it turns on/off auto with your machine or hook it up too one of those 4/6 port external usb power blocks. this fan is giving me life right now.

right, time to make a cup of tea (tends to bring my temp down - go figure) and start looking at my work for the week, think i'm gonna start finishing off some of these blogs that i've got sitting in BEAR ready to go, start some research for the people i want to include and set about making the descriptions ready for udemy and skillshare for a push out of the three hour course this week. keep yaself cool out there! :)
