Why can't they take a clue from WordPress? . . .or is it supposed to be cool and hip to have a clunky editor that doesn't have an align image, or resizing feature built in?

When I was brand new to Steemit, I didn't notice it either. Look below the text box though for the sentence that ends with "selecting them." That is a built in way to upload your images, so you do not have to use a third party site.
Are there pre-determined css classes built into steemit? Also can you write non-inline css in a post (in the head of the document)?
