Winter's cold winds and the dry heat of the hot Summer sun can leave your skin depleted of moisture. Sometimes, you just need to take a few extra moments to pamper yourself. I have put together a combination of different bath melts that are loaded with specialty butters to moisturize your skin.

Below is a photo tutorial of how I make my special bath melts for you to enjoy! You can always stop by my online Etsy Store Sunscapes Soaps & Soaks to purchase the melts if you are unable to make them yourself. Enjoy my tutorial.

Silicone Molds

Here I have some silicone molds that can be used for melts. They have to be ready for filling before I even mix up my ingredients. You have to work rather quickly because the butters can cool off and harden if you are not ready. You can use any shape mold that you desire, as long as, you can easily manipulate the sides to release your hardened mix.

Basic Recipe:

1 1/8 c. Cocoa Butter - Melted
1 1/2 c. Baking soda
2/3 c. Citric Acid
1 tsp. White Kaolin Clay
1 tsp. Polysorbate 80
1/ 8 tsp. Mica powder or less
few drops of Essential oil

Step 1 - Measure all dry ingredients and mix well together. Add mica colorant if using
Step 2 - Melt your Cocoa butter and make sure you have 1 1/8 cup.
Step 3 - Add oil and fragrances into your dry ingredients and mix well. Should look similar to cake batter.
Step 4 - Place mix into individual molds and let harden overnight before un-molding.
Step 5 - Keep in cool place until using. Drop one into a hot bath and enjoy the spa-like experience.

WARNING: Tub will be very slippery. Be careful when entering or exiting the tub and clean well after use.

"Eucalyptus & Spearmint"

I Love this blend of Essential Oils, I combined the Eucalyptus and Spearmint EO with the butter blend. Then I sprinkled organic Spearmint leaves (grown on site in my own gardens) on top. When I take them out of the mold, I drizzle some frosting on top for some added fun! (Frosting is made from the same recipe as the batch I am decorating)
