Making money on Steemit is a wonderful experience, as content creators can attest. Nevertheless, in order to ramp up one's game, it helps to gain mainstream credibility. A few posts that are incorporated by well-known publications can go a long way in establishing yourself as an expert in the field.
First Things First
But how does one even start getting exposure to the mainstream, especially when it's already difficult to get noticed on an open-source platform like Steemit?
Before we begin, we have to acknowledge that open-source has its own pros and cons. While everybody can go to Steemit and make money, that automatically creates dilution. In a sea of both good and bad content, it's difficult to stand out without some mainstream credibility.
You see, I'm not just some jerk-off blogger posting some technical charts -- I actually do have credibility. In April, I discussed French investments that could potentially rise higher based on the impetus caused by their presidential elections. This piece was originally published on InvestorPlace, and then was picked up by MSN Money.

I'm not paid by MSN, yet having my content on their website is a golden resume booster. It establishes my work as reputable, reliable, and vetted by mainstream sources.
How to Earn True Credibility
I understand that you can earn credibility on Steemit. However, without any offense to my fellow Steemians, getting "real life" credibility is far more important. Here's how you go about it.
First, find publications that allow for reproduction of work by independent contributors. You may not always get paid for this work, but getting published sets you up for future opportunities. A great place to start is Business Insider. Also, look into Forbes, which occasionally provides opportunities for newbies.
Second, with that newfound experience, hawk your resume to companies like InvestorPlace Media, or Seeking Alpha. These are firms that do pay for your content, and their materials are routinely republished through networks like Yahoo Finance, MSN Money, and Nasdaq.
Finally, remind your viewers that you ARE actually credentialed. You can incorporate a signature saying that your work was featured in such and such publication. It just adds to the overall marketing and professional presentation.
Now go out and get 'em!
Great info. Thanks. And make sure, give credit where credit is due. People deserve to be rewarded for their content.
Cheers
