How to setup STEEMIT profile, a complete tutorial for newbies

After creating your account on steemit, you will have to wait for the approval for 3 to 5 days then you can go to 

You will receive the approval in your email box then go to the link given. These are some steemit rules surely to follow them;

1. The first rule of Steemit which strictly must be followed is:

 Never misplace your steemit password.

2. The second rule is: If your steemit password is lost or misplaced, it cannot be recovered again.

3. The third law is: Use only incidental created passwords.

4. The fourth rule of steemit is: Never disclose or convey your steemit password to anyone

5. The fifth rule of steemit is: Always reserve your steemit password. Write it down and keep it secure in any safe place.

NOTE: When you are online don't use your password if not needed. Mostly it is only required to reveal “active key”. After that, you don't need it again.

Another important point is; Use your posting private key for daily use when transferring SBD or Steem only.

 How to approach the private keys?

Go to wallet

Click on Permission

Then click on show private key to show your posting key or to show active key.

Another important thing you must keep in mind, don’t hold many steems or SBD (Steem Dollars) in your wallet for an extended period because when your account is hacked, the money can be stolen from your wallet quickly.

If you are willing to change your steems to steem power(SP), then do it let far as it will not stay out for too long because if you get hacked, your money from your steem power can be stolen easily within one week.

If you are not agreed to convert your steems and steem dollars into (SP)steem power, then transfer it into savings as it is the safe way.

How to create Profile

Click on next to the right of the “post” tab

A list of heading will show there, click on the “Settings” tab.

Now fill the boxes where it demands, “Picture Profile URL” and “Cover image URL” you can set the URL of the picture which you like to insert. After this procedure, you can start posting your article like this;

Start your first post by giving your introduction. Prepare your introductory post in impressively and honestly. You can add your achievements and funny incidents too so your steemit fellows will get to know about you accurately. Always try to put a good picture on your profile… the first image that you put in will be the thumbnail for your introductory post because it will be shown to steemit members.

When you post the article or tutorial, then make sure that you are putting the maximum five correct tags related to that post, if you put unrelated tags you will get flagged, and your reputation will go down. You can set tags less than five too, but it is better to put five tags.

How to find out the best appropriate tags for your posts?

Go to home page

Click the left-hand side on “tags and topics” scroll down the curser then click on "view all tags" or "show more”.

Before you press the POST key, make sure that the “upvote post” box is ticked, and you have chosen your preferred reward as well.

Here is a quick look at the multiple types of rewards.

50%/50% : This reward goes in half STEEM Power, and half liquid STEEM / Steem Dollars.

Power Up 100% :This reward gives the post 100% STEEM Power.

Decline Payout :This option is used to receive no post rewards. 

All your posts as well as comments that you upvote, you get 75% of the total payout. The “curators” will get 25% of the total payout.
