Below are 10 tips for remembering people's names:


1. Make direct eye contact and smile while introducing yourself or introducing mutual friends and aquaintances.

2. Give your full attention to the introduction.

3. Listen carefully and repeat the name immediately.

4. Think of someone with the same name.

5. Form an association immediately with the name and his or her outstanding feature or anything else that will assist you to recall all or part of the name. The first association-complimentary or insulting is the best.

6. Don't worry if the association is not flattering.

7. Use the name of the person during the conversation.

8. If you have forgotten the person's name or didn't hear it the first time, ask him or her to tell you again, spell it, or even write it on a piece of paper so that you will remember it in case you forget.

9. Don't make excuses for yourself such as: "I'm terrible with names."  If you follow most of the tips just described in this post, chances are you'll have no excuses.

10. Interference and mental inhibitions are the main reasons for not remembering anyone's name.

I will definitely try these 10 things! I have a horrible memory for names. I have amazing recall for many things that I hear. For some reason I draw a blank on people's names even if i've worked with or interacted with them for many months. Thank you I hope this works!
