What HPPD (Hallucinogen Persisting Perception Disorder) is like.

To make things clear, I have self-diagnosed myself with this disorder and it doesn't seem as bad compared to other people who have it worse than I do.

I've been living with HPPD for about 6 months now. After I took 2C-B with DXM for the first time, I've noticed the symptoms more vividly and I can't remember having visual snow even before the experience because of the fact that I didn't wear glasses even when my eyesight was pretty bad until a few years later.

The symptoms:

Visual snow
Everything I look at seems to have some "static" effect to it, almost like how a TV is when it displays all the grey and black patterns. I notice it more in the dark but I can clearly see it overlapping everything I see in light. It takes place more often when I'm looking at my computer screen, since this is where I was during the trip. When I'm on caffeine, I can pay attention to the visual snow so well that it legit looks like it's snowing inside. It may seem cool, but it's really annoying.

This is the most accurate gif I can find:

Afterimages
Every time I look at one of my posters featuring the vault boy from fallout, I'd notice when I look away from it, the outline of the character appears on the wall and fades away in a matter of seconds. The afterimages are always white. Even when I look at a light and close my eyes, the light can stay there for a while until it fully fades away.

Derealization
I think this is what derealization is. I get this symptom from time to time. For some reason, the visual snow makes me believe that life itself isn't real. What I'm looking at is fake. I assume it's because of all the white dots I see that makes it seem like I'm just looking at a TV. A low quality show with high definition (only with my glasses on) if that makes sense. I mostly tell myself that what I see is real, and the HPPD things I see aren't real. That helps me out.

Patterns.
If I pay close attention to the wall, I can see acid-like patterns. Geometric and also this weird pattern that I'll have to draw for you guys:

When I was camping last weekend, on my way there I was very close to my phone and noticed this bubble pattern that seemed like a floater. It had an orange color to it and I've noticed this before when I was on MDMA, I had bubble visuals that would change different colors. The first time that happened was when I combined MDMA with Nitrous.

At the moment, I'm starting to eat healthy again and I'll be meditating more often. I also take Lion's Mane Mushrooms extract for cognitive enhancements and I've heard it helps with HPPD. I've been taking it for a month now but stopped for a week and I did notice a huge difference while I was on it. I'm also going to start exercising and I did space out my psychedelic use. I shall do the same with every other drug. I've been accepting it and living with it so it won't be as bad too. Wish me luck!
