Dear All,
Yesterday we arranged a gift allocation program for our kids at @SchoolForSDG4. As I mentioned in my last post, we have several gift allocation program before EID. EID is the largest religious festival for all Muslims. This year we could allocate around the gifts to around 50 Kids at our school.
As I shared my visit in slums 2 days ago to invite my kids at school. Most of the kids came at school in time.
A Few days ago, one of my friends showed his interest to give some food gifts to our kids. But he also wanted to arrange a food program at school. I requested him to make some changes. I found it will be wise if we give more food gifts to kids which they can take at home and cook at EID day, It will be nice to see their parents have some less burden and have some extra shopping for free. He agreed to add some extra EID gifts in each bags. He and his office colleagues came at school with the gifts.
Each Bags contain rice, vegetable oil, Lacchi, Shemai, dry milk, Soap, sugar, horlicks and flour
We had to make packets at school as it was not possible for my friends to make packets at shop. They brought the foods gifts according to category. We all joined to make packets for each kids. It was big enough for our kids.
We are making packets.
We are allocating gifts to kids.
Kids are happy after receiving gifts. This is our EID when we could make someone happy. I didn't see one kid had to go under sewing machine due to lack of space at school. The sewing machine is used my @WomenEmpowerment for their training purposes. I am so happy to have the support from
They also received some money as Salami for EID. Salami is a gift which is given during EID day after prayers in open ground and when we give salam ( Assalamualiqum ) to elder people. But it is not part of religion. It is just a cultural things in our country. As kids expect some gifts from elder during eid day, so elder people keep new paper currencies to give gifts for children, son, daughters and other younger members. It is not common things in middle income and lower income families. Even I can't remember when I received such gift from my family or elder.
Here is all who came to support our kids. I am the 5th person from left and the 6th person is my friend. The rest of them are colleagues of my friend. Thanks to them for making the day beautiful for kids.
