Pakistan may be all these things that you say that it is.
The problem is that many persons in the West hold a differing view - and these make up populations under the opinion-engineering heels of indirectly oppressive governments (some war-mongering, others supporting and others not).
There exists a great divide that makes the deceitful wishes of these governments easy. A language barrier coupled with mostly severed or limited communications.
Both of these problems Pakistan and other nations need to solve if they wish to invest in a guarantee against falling down the same slope that nations such as Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya have.
You need to establish an identity that western peoples can 'relate' to - and emotionally invest in. Otherwise the next time somebody carries out a terrorist attack 'coincidentally' carrying his "Pakistani" passport with him, people will collectively point at Pakistan and stand by idly as the governments' war machine gets warmed up.
