Discusion On Human Greed and The World as A Whole

After a lot of soul searching I decided to pose this question and ask a lot about the future of capitalism and the extent of its effect on the world on a global scale and with the current tide of environmental concern and its impact on future generations.

The Question Posed is Human Greed hampering evolution or just another step in the ladder?

Context

Humans have co-existed with nature for a lot of years before the invention of industrialization. As we increased in knowledge and gained mastery of tools our devastation has increased in relation to innovation and scalability.
This has resulted in wiping out of entire civilization and species both of all kinds. The Ancient empires built cities and inventions which were a marvel to behold but also wiped out entire communities and civilization with the culmination of the Roman Empire which changed a lot of the dynamics in the ancient world.

The European civilization and advent colonization expanded world exploration to the furthest reaches of the earth and by now each and every corner of the earth has been subject to human intervention. The rise of capitalism has increased the very need for living beyond our means which has led to inventions that are just beyond belief as we utilize every resource available within our means to make a buck.

The rise of Mega Cities has but the extent of human creativity on the map as systems get complex in nature and the results are outstanding as space exploration became a reality. While this presents an opportunity that humanity will reach beyond the earth and travel further than any known civilization, skeptics of climate change have used it to propel the notion that if there is always an alternative to Earth.

Thus the questions I pose are:

1: Has human greed affected the progress made in space exploration and the eventual exploration of resources that are available within our range but so far away?

2: Is income inequality the biggest issue of our time other than race and gender?

3: Is the current financial system obsolete and need a complete overhaul and if so what is a better way and system to adopt?

4: Do we need to preserve the environment at the extent of human innovation and the use of resources?

5: Is the rising population and advantage of detriment to evolution?

I look forward to your input as we discuss these challenges.
