"Party Park" by Richard F. Yates

Currently sitting in an Adidas store in Portland, Oregon, (in the Montgomery Park Building.) My younger daughter gets access to some kind of "employee days" thing through her work. (She's a medical billing / encoding clerk for the Cowlitz Indian Tribe...) I gasped when I saw the price tag of the first sweater I looked at, and had to be helped to a chair... Now, the family is shopping while I sit.

The drawing at the top of this post is from a page of my mini-pocket notebook: ink with digital embellishments and color. It's a little creature I drew yesterday while Mariah and I were at a graduation party for one of her coworker's kids. The party was at a little park near Chehalis, Washington, and the whole event was pretty low-key but fun. We ate some bbq, had some cake, visited for a bit and had a nice drive

Here, without much transition, are a couple of photos from inside the Montgomery Park Building, which looks pretty cool...

I was particularly amused by the superfluous statue at the top of the elevator structure. I wonder how many people notice this weird, little detail.

[TIME PASSES....]

Now, we are at a mini-mall in Vancouver, Washington, where everyone but me is investigation the Trader Joe's store. (I think I'm already shopped out for the day... If we were looking at books or comics or records, I might want to go in, but....) After this, we'll probably eat at MOD Pizza, then head back to Longview (where my print order is ready to pick up! Can't wait to see how the zines and fake money turned out!)

I'm going to TRY to get my next book review written and edited, tonight, so I can post it tomorrow morning, if nothing too freaky happens in the interim! Until then, go outside for a bit. Stretch your legs. See what the spiders are building or what the clouds are trying to tell you... You never know what those dudes are planning! (They're so crazy!!!)
