Good morning. The human landscape team.

In the last post, I learned about the moment when the Human-Scape project was born.

For those patients who do not even know the cause of the disease, or who are suffering from a life-long suffering with rare and incurable diseases that can not be cured, or who are unable to cure - and whose families suffer from mental and economic pain, A human-scale project launched to address costs. So what are the clues of the Humanscape team's work to conquer these incurable Diseases?

"A clue to the solution is the patient-generated health data, PGHD."

Patient-Generated Health Data (PGHD) refers to health-related data recorded and generated by a patient in a non-hospital setting. As smartphones become popular and patients become accustomed to smart devices, online surveys, mobile apps and wearable devices make it easier to collect a variety of PGHDs. PGHD constitutes health data together with genetic data and clinical data. Of these, PGHD accounts for more than 60%, and its proportion is gradually increasing.

Most of the patient activity occurs outside the hospital, so the information recorded during the consultation hours is limited. Therefore, the importance of PGHD, which is the information that is collected directly from patients, and the information produced by patients while they are battling, is gradually increasing. Compared to other data, PGHD has not been of relatively clinical value or interest, but it serves as a complement to existing medical data that can not be explained, filling information gaps and providing a more comprehensive understanding of patients' health.

According to Accenture's survey, the number of consumers participating in PGHD collections using mobile health applications could increase from 16% in 2014 to 33% in 2016, and the amount of PGHD to be collected will increase significantly in the future. Thus, PGHD, which contains a wide range of information about their health and illness throughout their lives, can be a clue to the solution of incurable diseases that can not be cured at this time if systematically collected and integrated.

Please support the human landscape to contribute to dissolving the health information of patients and liberating humanity from disease.

On the following page [How will patients, healthcare professionals, and research institutions be influenced by humanscapes?], I will explain to you who and how the health data (PGHD) generated by these collected patients will help. :)

Thank you.
