Gordon Gallup, a renowned psychologist, was the one who determined the word "humanzee" to refer to a cross between chimpanzees and humans, a species that was tried on several occasions during the twentieth century.

Gallup was devoted to evolutionary psychology and announced that primates can recognize themselves in a reflex. He confessed that a teacher of his commented to him the birth of a baby humanzee in a research center in which he collaborated.

According to The Sun , Gallup stated: "One of the most interesting cases involved an attempt that was made in the 1920s at what was the first primate research center established in the United States in Orange Park, Florida."

"They inseminated a chimpanzee female with human semen from an undisclosed donor and stated that not only did the pregnancy occur but the pregnancy was full term and resulted in a live birth."

However, from birth they began to question morality and ethics and finally, they decided to sacrifice the baby.

The rumors existed but nobody confirmed it. "He told me that the rumor was true, and he was a credible scientist in his own right."

Also in the 1920s an attempt was made to create a Soviet "super soldier" who would use human sperm and chimpanzee.

In 1967, in China a primate female became pregnant with a human hybrid, but this attempt was unsuccessful as the project was abandoned and the heimer died of negligence.

The term human hybrid was popularized with Oliver, a chimpanzee who walked on his hind legs, but studies in his genetics showed that it was a chimpanzee and not a human hybrid.

"All available evidence from both fossil, paleontological and biochemical sources, including DNA itself, suggests that humans can also reproduce with gorillas and orangutans," Gallup added.

Its foundation is that "human beings and the three species of great apes descend from a single common simian ancestor."
