The Power Of Euphemisms

in humor •  7 years ago

That is odd, I used the term with a kid last Thursday and had to look some up, too.

Me and her mom were talking about someone else's 'monkey on their back' when the kid asked what that meant, so I explained that euphemisms were when you say one thing but mean another.
The best I could come up with was 'your cows are getting out'.
Luckily that distracted her long enough that she didn't call me on not answering her question about monkeys.

With all of the painkillers I have to take, I often feel like I'm carrying King Kong around!

Have you tried MMJ?

I started in 1962... It makes pain worse because I think about it more. That doesn't mean I don't like to get high though!

Lol, they say that opiate consumption is going down in states where mmj is legal.

I agree that my toothaches hurt more high, and that is a sad day in paradise.
Can't get high, and my tooth won't stop hurting.

Well, what doesn't kill us, just makes us grumpier, eh?

If you understood my pain level you would understand more... I'll take all of your toothaches if you spend 1 week in my body!

No, thanks.
I have been very lucky to live mostly pain free.

I fell 25-30 feet in 1985 and landed on my back on boulders breaking it badly. The orthopedic surgeon predicted I'd be in a wheelchair within 5-10 years. My body tries to compensate for the weakness which causes other problems... Long story short- I live in horrible debilitating pain constantly. (The offer is still open lol)

Woo, that is bad.

Calgon is not gonna help with that.
