Interesting, I didn't know where it was, but that makes sense.
I have seen a dachshund do similar things. they are very focussed , and would no surrender a stick easily. Picking them up would NOT phase them, and it would Not get them to give away the stick.
The most difficult little dog I have ever seen! It has to be done their way, or they will fight for it!
But that is what makes them so interesting!

The Dachshund or Badger Dog was bread to extract Badgers, Rabbits and such from underground tunnels. They needed that body shape, a certain amount of autonomy, tenacity and loyalty to operate effectively. As a result they are willfully waywardly stubborn, and loyal to a fault.
I used to take old Blue Jeans and cut them into long strips. Twist up the strips and tie knots into them to play tug-a-war with a Dachshund (just be mindful of their teeth and your strength).
....It would never let me win :_(

They are the most stubborn Breed in the World! They also don't miss anything...ever, LOL!
They love tug of war for certain. But you do have to be careful, they will tear out their own teeth to win.
Their tails were bred sturdy, to allow the owner to put them out by their tails if the got stuck.
But they are loyal to a fault, and almost little people with short legs. I rescue them every chance I get. I have my first full sized one right now, he was beaten very badly. He is beginning to trust me and get comfortable living here.

Debbie lost a slice of pizza to my smallest dachshund, a little girl named Lilly. She did not pay full attention and Lilly (who WAS paying attention) snagged the pizza, and jumped down, and hid under the bed.

I have dachshunds, and I can tell you that the dachshund got the stick first, and would not give it up!

No, I have actual people that talk to me on Steemit, ROFLOL! :) I should be a lot better this week, not nearly as dead as it was....
But the League is so volatile of late, I shudder to guess at placement!
