I've said it before and I'll say it again: If Hunter Biden were the son of a prominent Republican, the right would be hailing him as a Second Amendment hero, while the left would say he exemplifies the kind of dangerously unstable drug user who should not be allowed to own a gun, and demonstrates we need more gun control.
On a slightly more serious note, I think Hunter does in fact have at least a fairly good chance of beating the rap on constitutional grounds. One of the statutes he's charged under bans gun possession by anyone who used any illegal drug and/or is addicted to a drug - regardless of whether using the drug or being addicted to it actually increases risks to anyone. Perhaps United States v. Biden will be the next great victory for Second Amendment rights!
If I were a conspiracy theorist, I'd say that's what the Bidens were planning all along: win over the gun rights vote by having Hunter set a key precedent. Hunter Biden may seem like a bumbling grifter. But he's actually a devious political operative and NRA asset. The NRA's recent budget problems are probably because of all the money they had to pay Hunter under the table to carry out this scheme.
