Arizona offers some amazing Mule Deer, Coues Deer, and Javelina hunting opportunities for the traveling bowhunter. This fabulous mule deer trophy was taken on a self guided bowhunt in the fall of 2017. Perhaps the best part - you can purchase a hunting permit without having to apply for the annual lottery.
I hope to see me there this coming January ... you?
From wikipedia:
"The mule deer (Odocoileus hemionus) is a deer indigenous to western North America; it is named for its ears, which are large like those of the mule. There are several subspecies, including the black-tailed deer.
Unlike the related white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus), mule deer are generally more associated with the land west of the Missouri River, and more specifically with the Rocky Mountain region of North America."
I have heard about Arizona having some great Bowhunting opportunities and by the looks of the above picture it proves what has been said about Arizona.
I would say that I feel a family hunting trip to Arizona coming soon.
Thanks for sharing this well written article about this topic and have a great day.

Thank You too. I like your posts. Sad to hear about the bowhunting. It is certainly a challenging way to hunt. "A peccary is a medium-sized hoofed mammal of the family Tayassuidae in the suborder Suina along with the Old World pigs, Suidae. They are found throughout Central and South America and in the southwestern area of North America." Wikipedia http://azgfd.gov/h_f/game_javelina.shtml
