Hurricane Irma comes with everything

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inameh) forecaster Jose Gregorio Ortiz said that the three hurricanes affecting the Caribbean and the United States -Irma, Katia and José- do not directly affect Venezuela, but they do cause rains of varying intensity and increased swell.

Interviewed in the state channel, Ortiz explained that the fact that hurricanes occur, affects the atmospheric instability, which activates the Intertropical Convergence Zone and this causes rains in Venezuela.

In that sense, he indicated that the country expects rains with gust of wind, and probable stormy activity in hours of afternoon and night.

As for the swell, he said that the increase of the height of the soles between 1.5 and 2.8 meters is expected.
