As i walked through the lonely street obviously scared of what will happen to me next, the adverse weather filled my body with so much cold as i had been stripped of my trouser and shirt,i just had my boxers on..
I walked down to a bridge where i met some persons sleeping Peacefully under the harsh weather. I wiped the tears from my eyes and decided to join them, i stayed awake all through and didnt blink an eyelid..
I noticed that they got up early, since i didn't have my wristwatch on so i couldn't tell what time exactly, but it was really early.
They just washed their faces and armpits with water from a bucket, put on their clothes which they slept on and off they went.
Motorist were already in full gear, calling out to passengers and well dressed people were seen hurrying to jump onto buses, i started to wonder if they slept in the park.
I couldn't get up from where i was because i had no clothes on,i turned my eyes to another direction and i saw some dirty clothes on the floor, I quickly helped myself to them and fled the bridge.
I asked people around how i could get to Egbeda, "atleast let me just roam around the place, i might be lucky to bump into Abdul", i thought within me. Surprisingly,a kind hearted lady helped me with #300 and put me on a bus enroute Egbeda..
The traffic was alarming and people were murmuring, frowning and some used that opportunity to buy things from road side hawkers..
A particular woman was shouting through the windscreen "sin sin, sin sin",it was until the hawker came that i realized it was "chin chin"she was calling out for the whole time.
Since i wasn't able to sleep the previous night, i decided to close my eyes for a while as it was becoming very heavy, it was very easy for me to fall asleep and I loved it..
In my subconscious i started hearing voices in the bus, the driver passed our destination and the doors were locked, passengers were screaming and shouting, and a slap greeted my face when i woke up.
I have heard of "One Chance" before but i never thought i was going to experience it, i felt like commiting Sucide for ever agreeing to come to Lagos.
The boys rough handled us and collected our belongings, those who had nothing were thrown out of the bus, i felt my heart leap at the very sight and tears dropped down my eyes..
"wetin de your pocket"it was my turn, the voice sounded so familiar, as i looked at the guy who had slapped me earlier, it was Abdul, the very same friend that invited me over to Lagos!!
