So Hybix is a platform that creates colored coin on any blockchain,now this is very interesting,it’s a protocol that is not competing with any blockchain. It’s thesis is simple : how do we create a coin or digital asset is usable and portable across any kind of blockchain that is currently existing as well as the one that will exist in the future and it does that by adding a data layer to the underlying blockchain it is interacting with.

The problem of blockchain right now

First bitcoin came on the scene to solve cross border payments challenges and also serve as form of digital gold,it is decentralized and permissionless,bitcoin did well but as we all know that technology evolves,people are wowed with what they meet and are convinced that there is more that can be done so we see lots of research and projects popping up left and right,while many in the bitcoin space often labelled as Bitcoin Maximallist often claim that Bitcoin is the only coin and blockchain,all other are scams and will die,we have seen real world applications of blockchain technology with different projects.

Ethereum was started by Vitalik Buterin and others,they saw that there was only little you could do with bitcoin,you could not write much with bitcoin scripting language,they decided to create a world computer that stores and executes program called smart contracts,these have birthed a wide array of applications(dapps) across many sectors(decentralized finance as an example have over $1 billion in assets).

Over 80% of all new coins,ICO,Defi apps are launching on Ethereum,with increasing demand for blockchain projects,the industry is faced by the challenge called the Blockchain Trilemna :It says that of all 3 properties of a blockchain,it’s impossible for any blockchain to have all 3,they could have 2 and sacrifice one property.

To solve this problem,many bright minds have actually entered the space,we have the likes of David Chaum of the defunct DigiCash currently speaheading Elixir,Brian Cohen the famous Bittorent founder leading Chia Network,Emin Gun Sirer creator of one of the earliest virtual currency,Karma coming back to head AVALANCHE,Silvio Macali co inventor of zero knowledge proofs coming to work on Algorand,the founder of Javascript language working with Brave Browser.

There is so much research around distributed networks and computing,privacy,trusted computing,cryptography,quantuam resistant cryptography.

But we notice that the more and more new solutions are been added,while they are tremendously good and useful we see that they are been developed and utilized in siloes,it seems everyone is trying to build an empire for themselves and their project. It’s chaotic governance,there are no standards,no protocol for inter communication,what we have on our hands right now is that of connecting all these networks together,make them interoperable,when this is ultimately achieved them we will see the real value and beauty of the blockchain technology.

Currently there are many projects working around interoperability,we have the likes of Polkadot,Cosmos and many others.

If a project attempting to solve interoperabilitity has design its network to fit a particular blockchain,it will have 50 different design parameters for 50 different blockchain networks. If you consider that approach,you see it’s not practical for some reasons : it will be too tedious a work to do,it will be too complex to build and work with and finally it’s not practical as we have to upgrade it everytime we create a new blockchain.

But all blockchains rovolve around one thing:it’s called DATA,validated transactions,wallet balances,everything in blockchain is data held together with cryptography and incentive.
