Conventional Cosmology has not advanced in 300 yrs. They still mistakenly adhere to the original idea that swirling dust cloud collapsed under gravity and formed the sun and planets as they are today. The Newtonian clockwork universe assumption. One gets the distinct impression NASA's job is to hold back science. Which they are certainly doing by refusing to look at more predictive theories like the Electric Universe.
