Hyundai presents its double-decker electric bus: up to 70 passengers and 300 km of autonomy

In the electric mobility sector, Hyundai continues to be busy announcing its interest in presenting on the market a fully electric double-decker bus, a model designed to provide more seats and zero emissions.

With few details available at the moment, this electric bus would benefit from a high-efficiency water-cooled 384 kWh battery capable of providing a single charge of 300 km of autonomy and ensuring recharge times of only 72 minutes.

There are a total of 70 seats on board, 59 on the lower level and 11 on the upper level, a somewhat asymmetrical subdivision not better justified by Hyundai; the bus in question would also be characterized by a low floor so as to be easily accessible even to the disabled in wheelchairs, for which two dedicated seats on the ground floor and a pull-out ramp are available.

"This two-storey electric bus is 12,990 m long and 3,995 m high. A rear wheel steering system works consistently with the first axle steering system, optimizing steering performance" This electric bus is the result of 18 months of development for a project supported by the Korean Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, Hyundai also focused on developing electric traction.
