The Exter, the most economical SUV offered by Hyundai Motor India, is now available for an introductory price of Rs 6 lakh for the base variant and goes all the way up to Rs 10 lakh for the top-of-the-line SX (O) variant. Both prices are ex-showroom. The car comes in five trim levels, includes a single engine that can run on gasoline or CNG, and has both manual and automatic transmission options. According to the trim, engine, and gearbox configurations, the company has so far disclosed the costs of 11 variants. Apart from that, bookings for the Exter SUV have already begun at the company's official website or through authorised dealerships in India for a nominal amount of Rs 11,000.

In terms of mechanical components, the SUV offers three different engine choices. A 1.2-litre Kappa petrol, 4-cylinder normally aspirated (NA) engine can generate 82bhp at 6,000rpm and 113.8Nm of torque at 4,000rpm, whilst a 1.2-litre Kappa petrol, bi-fuel with a CNG option, can generate 68bhp of maximum power and 95.2Nm of torque at its peak. The CNG version's transmission will be a manual gearbox, while the petrol engine's transmission will be either an AMT automated gearbox or a five-speed manual gearbox. The Exter SUV offers 19.4km/l for the manual variant and 19.2km/l for the automatic variant, according to ARAI certification.
