Lumière délectable.
The light in Iceland can be exquisite year-round. From mid-November to early February, the sun hovers close to the horizon and a long twilight bookends the day. Pink, reddish hues suffuse the landscape with an otherworldly glow characteristic of this sub-Arctic island. Likewise, during peak summer the low midnight sun sings its own symphony of soft honeyed tones. The range of this soul-purifying visual experience will absorb us in this series. (Introduction from the inaugural post.)
Scenes felt and enjoyed last month in Skagafjörður, North Iceland are the subject of this installment.
