St. Peter’s Basilica, Iceland edition.

Ensconced in the Búrfellshraun lava field near Mývatn in North Iceland, this hut (“Peter’s Church”) was built by farmer Pétur Jónsson in 1925 to provide shelter during the annual sheep roundup.

In the first image, the iconic Bláfjall mountain and the shield volcano Skuggadyngja are seen in the distance.
