QuarkChain is a blockchain that utilizes sharding to provide a high-capacity peer-to-peer transactional system. It will consist of two main layers – the sharding layer, which allows for high throughput by effectively distributing data, and the Root layer, which serves to confirm the blocks of the first.
QuarkChain focuses on 3 pillars which are Decentralization, Security and Scalability. The QuarkChain Network is helping move blockchain into the next generation by increasing the transaction per second count many times of what current blockchain is able to achieve currently. They are able to do so without sacrificing the core features of security and decentralization. The applications include distributed social media, high frequency trading, Internet of Things (IoT), gaming and payment.
Additionally, QuarkChain also utilizes Collaborative Mining and Anti-Centralized Horizontal Scalability Expansion. The traditional super-full node imposes a significant barrier with its high requirements on CPU, storage, memory and network bandwidth which were only available to powerful parties. Quarkchain implements collaborative mining where there will be Nodes and Clusters for mining on the QuarkChain platform. Clusters are multiple nodes forming a cluster running as a super-full node. This encourages decentralization as individual miners are able to come together to form a cluster which is able to act as a super-full node.
