Essentia, a blockchain company that is planning the release of a cryptocurrency wallet and identity application, has just published new documents on their website which appear to confirm a 2018 Q1 ICO. The company describes its product as a framework that will allow users to have full control over their identities and data on the blockchain.

The new “Roadmap” document says that, under the Q1 2018 section, they will be doing a “1st Airdrop after the ICO ends,” thus confirming a Q1 2018 ICO. The document also states that a public beta test is planned to start by Q3 of 2018. They also released a “Foundation and Business Plan” document which examples of use cases of the product.

From a recent statement they released on Bitcoinist.com, Essentia put forward the main features of the product:

"Multiple wallets and multi-currency
In one place? Surely not. Yup, no need to bounce between multiple wallets. We have integrated with your favorite currencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, ERC20 Tokens, IOTA, Litecoin, and Ripple. You can also monitor cold storage assets that are not present in our framework, accessible only by you, all through your seed."

So, Essentia will have a cryptocurrency wallet. This will include at least Bitcoin, Ethereum, ERC20 Tokens, IOTA, Litecoin, and Ripple. Essentia will allow you control multiple wallets with one mnemonic seed, which is a standard feature of many of crypto wallets.

"Exchanges
We integrate and partnered with Ether Delta and Flyp.Me to unlock your decentralized prosperity. Multi-chain minimizes downtime and secures your assets across secure, decentralized networks."

This feature allows users to convert currencies in your wallet using a service called Flyp.me, which is similar to Shapeshift. And EtherDelta is also integrated, so you can exchange ether for ERC-20 tokens as well.

"Logins
If you are like us then you are sick of having to re-enter passwords, save backups and change devices to access your decentralized and centralized accounts. Having one seed grants you instant access to all of your personal and business-critical logins."

Since most web browsers have a password saver function, this feature seems to indicate that Essentia can save passwords for decentralized Ethereum appplications (dApps) as well as browser passwords.

"Storage
We have integrated with powerful decentralized storage systems as Swarm, Ipfs, Storj, giving you access to the new backbone of digital storage. Where data is encrypted, persistent and censorship-resistant."
With Essentia you’ll be able to access storage dApps.

"Identities
This is a big one: we let you take control of your identities with custom profile settings. You decide what details to share and whether you would prefer to be anonymous, pseudo-anonymous or KYC compliant within your identities."

The “Foundation and Business Plan” document offers an example of how Essentia could help with identities. It postulates a scenario where users could provide, via Essentia, their identity to exchanges that process fiat currency to cryptocurrency. These exchanges typically are required to know their customers to comply with government regulations.

Summary
Essentia says it currently has integrations with the following technologies: Ethereum, Bitcoin, IOTA, Status.im, EtherDelta, IPFS, Swarm, Storj, Flyp.me and Aragon.

The company recently sponsored the North American Bitcoin Conference and recently joined the Bitcoin Association Switzerland.
