Bitnation: The Road To A New Social Structure

Maybe you’ve heard this one before, but let’s take a moment to think about it in whole new perspective. Imagine for a minute a world with no borders, no barriers, and no walls, a world where you can go to and strive in the social infrastructure of your choice without the hassle of bureaucracy. If you can picture that or if you are willing to work for that, maybe you are fit to join the BitNation community. The company refers itself as a holacratic organization looking to become into a fully functional decentralized society with no relation to the current organized structures of the world.

BitNation is based in Switzerland, and it was funded in 2014 under the watchful eye of Susanne Tarkowski Tempelhof, her partner James Fennell Tempelhof and Dr. John Matthews. The team has envisioned a society where humanity can choose to create their organized structures which they have labeled “holons.” These groups can come up with their own set of rules to lead the social models they want to build. They can be formed around non-profit ideas or for-profit initiatives. Each one of these holons is part of a whole (in this case the Bitnation ecosystem), and everyone can choose to move through the system autonomously without having to answer to hierarchies.

When it comes to contributions to build the foundations for Bitnation, everyone can choose the way they want to interact with the platform. The company has devised four ways to give access to the benefits of a self-managed society to every single person interested in their ideas, let’s take a look at them and how they work:

World Citizen

Is the most basic level of interaction with the platform. The world citizen is listed as someone who has heard about the ideas and philosophies behind BitNation, and they have registered their name with us. These are strong candidates to form their holos, or they are simply looking for a social structure that goes with their way to see life. As a world citizen, the people will have the choice to create a community or to join them at will.

Allies

The second level of partnership with Bitnation is by becoming an ally. Our allies have full access to all the teams’ within the platform, as well as all the communities, chat rooms and news regarding the development of the ecosystem. Allies also have access to the newsfeed of the company on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter to keep fluent channels of communication to express their ideas.

Embassies and Consulates

In this level of partnership, users of the platform will be able to find physical locations where they can meet the people who belong in their holos or with like-minded individuals with whom they can share their projects. They are places where members of the platform can freely interact. It works with the basic principles of a safe space where members of BitNation can gather to make their ideas work. Embassies are places who offer full-time sanctuary, while consulates are places for temporal reunions.

Ambassadors

The last level of partnership in the BitNation platform is reserved for individuals willing to carry the message about the benefits of working with the social structure planned by the company. The roles of the ambassadors have evolved in the company as their plans have been reshaped. Since BitNation now works under the norms of a Decentralized Autonomous Organization, they are restructuring this level of partnership to roles that are akin to real-world politics just to interact with the world as it evolves. BitNation is in need of diplomatic ambassadors, diplomatic consuls, and goodwill ambassadors.
