Is there anything common for all of us? It is obvious that at least every fifth person has purchased something from other cities, countries or continents. Be it a trifle for personal usage, a car or even large shipments of commercial goods. And everybody wonders how our purchases are delivered to us.
There are always but a few options to choose from: a plane, a train, a car, a ship, a drone, and the like, though they are not universal, and, therefore, the best ones must be still looked for. For example, the plane is fast and the oceans are not an obstacle, but it is expensive and there are significant restrictions as to weight and size. Transportation by train and by car enables large shipments, which is much cheaper than that carried out by plane, but these vehicles are incapable to go by sea, whereas by ship it is possible to carry large cargo in containers at an affordable price above Neptune’s realm. In my opinion, the container vessels are the best option to run a business.
The first container vessels appeared in the early 1950s as a result of a significant increase in international marine cargo shipping. Transportation of cargoes in containers allowed to ensure their storage, significantly speeded up their delivery to the consumer, and the possibility to build a single transport system. The largest is the "MOL Triumph" with the following dimensions: 400 m length, 59 m width, 76 m height, 13.4 m sedimentation (15.4 m loaded), 196.878 t weight capacity, 20.170 (TEU) container capacity. Reducing berthing time during loading and unloading makes the container capacity twice as high as the carrying capacity of an ordinary dry cargo ship. It compensates for the sheer costs of container transportation.
The human factor being inevitable, this system is rather imperfect. Containers often happen to get «lost», shipped to a wrong destination (I have had such a problem) or be mistakenly loaded, which can even lead to tragic consequences. For example: on June 17, in the Arabian Sea the ocean linear container vessel Mol Comfort broke in two and sank. The sea surface around the shipwreck was abundant with drifting containers. According to preliminary data, there had been some 4500 containers on board. The cause of the accident was the flawed distribution of the weight of loaded containers due to inaccurately declared cargo weights; and incorrect ballasting. Insurers estimated the total damage amounting to $ 523 million, including $ 440 million from cargo loss and $ 83 million from the vessel damage.
This could have been avoided if there were a clear, detailed, structured and secure tracking and monitoring system of all container movements. The implementation of the Global Shared Container Platform with the founder and CEO Peter Ludvigsen is crucial to solve all these problems. Peter has 39 years of experience in the shipping industry with a unique combination of shipping industry background (Liner Shipping, Operations Management, Ports and Container Terminals), with CIO experience, and IT Program Management along with entrepreneurial experience from having founded and managed Bestshore Business Solutions UK Limited for several years.
The main idea behind GSCP is to create a transparent and understandable register of all containers and tracking their lifecycle from embarkment to acquisition by the customer. This will be the world’s unprecedented blockchain based register that will enable real-time location tracking and status check of containers. With this platform you will not be confined to the office, you will only need the Internet and a laptop or a phone to work with. Regardless the location, you will be able to pay or receive payment and monitor the entire transportation process.
ICO was launched to implement this project, which successfully started in May, and now everyone can become part of it. Some information about CCC token distribution:
• Total number of CCC tokens issued: 50,000,000
• Number of tokens offered during the ICO: 42,500,000
• Number of tokens held by founders and advisors: 7,500,000
• Tokens to be sold during pre-sale and the ICO: 40,000,000
• Number of tokens to be given as bonuses: 2,500,000
• Price per token during the ICO: USD 0.62
• Total ICO revenue: USD 24,800,000
The idea is extremely attractive and its implementation is of interest for a number of clients from customers to ship designers.
