I have been a Disney Channel buff ever since I was born. The first kind of music I ever listened to, were from Camp Rock, High School Musical, and even Finding Nemo! As a kid, music shaped my world. I woke up to songs played by my mother on the radio, then I went to school on a bus where a single tape played old Bollywood music. I had music practices almost every day in school, people around me practising their vocals, playing their keyboard, tuning their guitars.

When I returned home, the same bus had the same tape playing beautiful and evergreen music. I come home, freshen up and grab my iPod shuffle and work on my assignments. During the dinner time, our family used to sit for some time and sing their favorite songs as a sign of family bonding. My days were filled with music. I learnt the guitar and keyboard. My mother knew how to sing. We used to have song sessions in weekends. Our days went beautifully. Music is a part of me. A part of everyone of us.

In my lifetime, I have never heard a person who said he disliked music. Music is beautiful. It gives us a peace of mind. It makes our sad days happy. It comforts us, understands us. Music is like an ocean of emotions. It comes to us, helps us destroy our sandcastles of loneliness. And pats our feet with its glory.

A bridge between unspoken and spoken. Music is a spurt of thought. A seizure of moment transcending all boundaries, storing life and death at different octaves.

Changing Times-

Music in my grandmother's time and music in my time are a lot different. From cassettes to iPods, music has unfortunately, seen a loss in its beauty. In the earlier days, singers were few, cassettes were expensive, few people had radios, so the quality of music was maintained. Music was a fruit people didn't get to eat daily, so it was more delicious. With recorders and the walkman, music was available to masses. However, the entire point was, music had to purchased, so all the people involved in its creation to commercialization got their share.

In recent times, music is either being illegally downloaded and streamed or being downloaded at high costs by sophisticated websites. Ultimately, the artists are at a loss as most of the revenues are squandered upon by middlemen. This has resulted in numerous artists having to quit their careers because of lack of funds and undeserving people getting a share of the fame because of having cash cows as family.
