ICO — no license is required on Isle of Man

in ico •  6 years ago

The country has limited legal regulation. Even there is a specialized definition of “digital currencies” (under which crypto-currencies also fall). Operations with crypto-currencies are limited only for the purpose of fulfilling AML / CFT requirements (were adopted in March 2015).
ICO projects are also required to comply with AML / CFT requirements, register with the Financial Supervisory Commission (no license is required), and comply with the requirements for the protection of personal data of customers. The same rules apply to the activity of crypto-exchange exchanges.

Isle of Man is a self-governing British Crown dependency in the Irish Sea between England and Ireland. It’s known for its rugged coastline, medieval castles and rural landscape, rising to a mountainous center.
