I Have an Idea! - Hear Ye Hear Ye!

Actually, I have several ideas, but one at a time, one at a time. How insane this one is, that's up to you to decide.

Have you read these @taskmaster4450's posts about the quantity and the quality of Steemit posts? If you haven't, take a look so that you have the general idea about the issue I want to address. Remember, if you want to upvote @taskmaster4450's posts, don't upvote these. Those are old, so upvote one of the newer ones.

Do you know when something has been adopted by masses? Oh you do? I do also, but before I reveal my thoughts and my idea, and we see if we think alike, let me just add a skip to the idea = solution for the problem text.

If you want to skip the next jadajada and my thoughts about when you know Steemit has been adopted by masses, just scroll down and start reading after the next big text that says: continue reading here.

You know when something has been adopted by masses when the dating posts and the first dating app appears. Something like Steemder. Or Steemit Truelove Date (STD). Now I said it and I'm sure there will be one, if not tomorrow, but next week. I am sorry, it's my fault. You can all blame me. I said it out loud. And a dating app will be a portal way to heavier things like: market for Durability Improvement Pills (DIP) and a reality Stream: Love Steemit Dating (LSD).

Now the thing is that there are several good reasons why many accounts here do not want to read, hear or interact with people who are all about dating and only dating. But, there are also several good reasons why Steemit would benefit from people who are searching partners where ever they can find one. Even from the other side of the world. One of them being money. Money taken from someone who willingly want's to give it and transferred to someone who want's to take it. Isn't that how things are here, even without the dating app? People use time and money to post, interact and upvote and at the same time receive money from other people. That's my prediction and warning for you, any way you want to take it.

For some reason, any reason, your reasons, you want to find / hide / exclude / include different kind of posts here in Steemit. Sure there are different ways to do that, but none of those that are available now, aren't perfect. And those ways are hard to combine, some even impossible.

You can follow or mute accounts. You can search posts that might interest you browsing the new and trending tabs or search interesting things to read from tags. You can use @jga's CustomFeed tool, or hide resteems from your feed. <--- Yippee for this one! Good job.

And although you might be one of those who do post memes, use dMania, dLike and Actifit, there are several good reasons why anyone here would like sometimes either find or hide easily certain kind of posts. No worries, I have an idea.

Hey all you skippers, continue reading here!

So we are at the point where we want to exclude certain kind of posts. Temporarily or permanently. You follow who you follow, but sometimes you want to exclude posts under certain tags so that you can concentrate to more important things or find what you were looking for.

Or something better, a drop down menu that gives even more choices and combinations.

I have nothing against Actifit, dmania or dlike. I actually think Actifit is an awesome idea and app. But sometimes this would be incredibly handy.

So how about it @steempeak and all the others? Sorry all the others, for now I only use steemit.com and steempeak.com. If you, all the others like busy.org have this option, it's a big plus for you, but I want this option to SteemPeak.

Sort Order:
  1. Where do you want this action? Blog / Feed or Topics?
  2. you want to "Mute" a topic/keyword?
  3. You want to mute temporarily or permanently?
  4. Would it just be better to do most of this in some sort of better Search system?
  5. Would it be easier or better to just look for topics that you want instead of those you don't?

First I have to tell you that this is not a big issue for me now, but it could be in the future. When there will be more Steemit users. And my feed is getting bigger and larger all the time, I seem to be an account hoarder. I like so many topics and I want to stalk support so many people and clearing my feed, well, I've done it once and I just have to say that I hate clearing and cleaning! That includes apparently my feed. :)

But let's get to your questions.

Where do you want this action? Blog / Feed or Topics?

Perhaps all. Mostly Topics, but also Feed. It would be great if I could use it the same way as I use exclude resteem in my own blog and when I browse my feed. The exclude option would be perfect if I could exclude more than one topic at the same time. And resteems. For instance if I could exclude dmania, dlike and resteems, that would be great.

you want to "Mute" a topic/keyword?

If you mean the topic is the first tag and keywords are all the tags, then the topic. Or if you meant that the topic and keyword is the same thing, then yes. :)

You want to mute temporarily or permanently?

Having these both options would be perfect if I think about the future and how Steemit is going to be adopted by the masses thing. :D Perhaps the same way as the "View Feed/Topics in 'Grid' Mode" in settings. If I could include certain topics in settings that are automatically excluded, that would be great, but then again it would also be great if I could at any time change it (until I refresh the page) the same way as I can change the grid to list view or as I now can temporarily exclude all resteems.

Would it just be better to do most of this in some sort of better Search system?

Hmmm. I'm not sure. I mean, a better search system is always a good thing, but my problem isn't that much with the search. Again I was mostly thinking ahead, imagining what would happen if there were more people here, but the exclude option in certain topics (tags or keywords) would be a good option now too.

Would it be easier or better to just look for topics that you want instead of those you don't?

Usually I don't exclude anything from my feed. If I follow someone and they post something that I'm not interested, it's not a problem because I can just scroll some more and the post is gone. But the option of excluding some topics will become more important when I follow more and more people. And if I want to find new people to follow, then it would be very useful to exclude those posts that don't interest me at all. So this is more about excluding than including. SteemPeak all ready has excellent options if I want to follow certain topics, trails or users. :)

Thank you for your comment and questions!

Wow! You were fast! :)
Let me get back to you in a while. So many questions. :)

very interesting app,i'll use it ❤

Btw, don't be shy to upvote your own posts when you submit them.

But that would mean that you wouldn't visit my blog anymore and remind me of voting myself. And I rather have you visit my blog. Even if it was to remind me to selfvote.
