Did you recently purchased an ironing board and now have one that for sure is no longer going to be used? Well, you can repurpose it into something that will be usable. Bring your old wall mount ironing board out and give it a makeover!

Here are 5 ways you can repurpose your ironing board.

Entry Table

If you want to put a table near the entrance of the house but can’t seem to find one that is narrow to not be an obstruction on your entrance hallway, then a repurposed old iron board will be the best one to put there. It is narrow yet long enough to be able to hold things like a mail rack or a mail organizer and a vase for your fresh flowers. It’s a nice welcoming design when you place this near your main entrance.

Plant Stand

You can take your old ironing board out into your garden and make it a stand for your plants. You can make holes in the middle of the board that will hold your pots. If you don’t have time to drill or make a hole to hold your pots, you can easily place it on top of the board. You can arrange it according to your preference. You can put your small potted herbs on top or you can arrange your potted flowering plants and you can put it on your front porch.

Chalk Board

Wooden ironing boards can be used as a chalkboard for your signage or for your little ones. You can easily remove the cloth covering (if there are any) off of the ironing board and paint it black so that your chalk will be visible. You can put it in your kid’s study corner or you can write anything on it and make it as a signage board.

Peg Board

The long wooden board of your ironing board can be removed from its metal or wooden stand and be repurposed as a pegboard. Drill holes in the wooden board and make dowels that will fit the hole perfectly. Because this is a DIY pegboard, you can make as many holes for your dowels as you want. This pegboard can be easily attached to the wall or you can put it on top of a table. You can use this pegboard as an organizer by adding baskets and racks to it or one can simply use it to hang keys and tools.

Movable desk

This has got to be the simplest way to repurpose an ironing board. Nothing needs to be changed except maybe the cloth cover on it. You can use this in any place in your house. If you have a tiny workplace and a large table just won’t fit inside it, then a movable desk would be the solution to that. You can easily fold the ironing-board-turned-desk and bring it out of your workroom. Wrap it with a or paint it with the design that you want to give it a more personalized touch.
