Going Beyond Suffering From the Emotions

Identifying the source of emotional pain is a great first step in going beyond the emotions. When you are emotionally overwhelmed, it can be difficult to move forward. You may have to go back and recall the past in order to let go of the pain and move forward. But it is important to remember that the past is not always the best guide to the present.


Suffering is a natural part of life. It happens to everyone at one time or another in their lives. It does not discriminate - people with great wealth, fame, and friendships, as well as those with less conventional success, are all suffering as well. The truth is that we are all in this life together.

Another way to overcome emotional pain is to learn to express gratitude. By doing so, you remind yourself that we are supported by the universe. This basic truth is deeply healing and reassuring. By accepting emotions, we can reach out to those around us and help them in their time of need.

If you don't know how to handle your emotional pain, seek professional help. There are many techniques and methods available that can help you deal with your pain. In the meantime, try focusing on things that you can control and ways to deal with your pain whenever it arises.

If you've become isolated after the trauma, reconnect with your friends and family. This will lessen your sense of isolation and helplessness. Spending time with other people will also remind you of your strengths and help you reclaim a sense of power. You can also try volunteering.

Talking about your loss is a healthy way to deal with the pain. However, don't try to forget the past. It's okay to talk about what happened, but try to focus on the positive aspects of your life. And don't take unprescribed mood-altering drugs to cope with your emotional pain. In addition, try to get plenty of rest and maintain a normal sleep/wake cycle.


Radical acceptance involves shifting away from emotional reactions and moving toward logical thought. By choosing to accept what you're experiencing, you can free up your mental energy to deal with the situation. This is not easy, and it often requires years of practice. The most common situations to practice radical acceptance include situations where you cannot change or are unfairly treated. You can then move forward to make plans for change.
