2 jawans killed, 4 injured in IED attack by Maoists in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur

On July 18, 2024, two Special Task Force (STF) jawans were killed and four others injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack by Maoists in the Tarrem area of Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district.

Incident Details

The attack occurred when a joint team of security personnel was returning after an anti-Naxalite operation in the forests on the tri-junction of Bijapur, Sukma, and Dantewada districts. The Maoists targeted the personnel with an IED as they were returning, resulting in the deaths of two jawans, identified as Bharat Sahu from Raipur and Satyer Singh Kange from Narayanpur district.

Injured Jawans

The four injured jawans are being airlifted for treatment, and additional security forces have been dispatched to the area to ensure their safety and provide necessary medical care.
