Will iExec become useful in the future?

The utility of iExec is that they propose to offer a distributed computation platform which leverages blockchain technology. Computation resources are always valuable in theory but the question remains whether or not in practice a computation market will obtain value in a practical sense? In theory people can buy computation from any market but what would make it cost effective for people to choose to buy it through RLC and iExec?

What are your thoughts on the future of iExec?

And now I ask my readers what do you think the future holds for iExec? The charts for the project don't look good but then in terms of what it offers it is offering computation as a sort of utility. The question is will people buy the RLC token and use the current interfaces to buy computation? From what I can see iExec needs to very much improve on UX and on getting large institutional scale clients in order to shore up demand. Without demand for the RLC token then it does not matter how much theoretical utility the project may offer.

It is possible for any coin to be useful in the near days. I would say there is chances for iexec to be useful.

Could work - its ambitious but not really generating a lot of buzz at the moment. Relatively low amount of DAUs according to Trivial - https://trivial.co/t/0x607f4c5bb672230e8672085532f7e901544a7375

I doubt that it will get a critical number of users. IT departments of the larger companies are often very conservative in terms of procurement.

The project and the token will be successful because (in my opinion) the iExec team is able to adapt.

My guess:
The team probably started with the intention "if we build it they will come" and didn't think much about the token itself and how it can be used. But they attended a course and are aware that it needs way more attention and resources.
I can't find the source but I remember that they have a team member working on this.

Despite being a team of people coming from the educational side they can and will deliver:

  • an easy to use UI,
  • security,
  • an easy way to integrate iExec into companies processes,
  • and a competitive price.

Technically they re-use XtremWeb-HEP and it will be superior to other projects because it's already used for many use cases and reliable.

It takes time until 2021 based on their roadmap and maybe a little bit longer but it will work.
