Hi Steemians, I am starting the week with articles on parenting. I have already posted an article defining parenting and here is the link.

I have been meaning to know why we do what we do and behave the way we behave. After a lot of research, this is what I learned.
On our personal journey, we all seek to understand, meaning, wisdom and knowledge. We want to know why we’re here. We crave purpose. For many of us, we navigate life trying to make sense of who we are by distributing our time across things like obligations, work, family and our passions. We’re trying to find ourselves.
Much of our health and happiness is rooted in our own behaviours: whether we exercise and eat right, whether we make choices as optimists or as pessimists, whether we stay motivated to reach our goals or stick to the status quo. But even the best conscious intentions don’t always translate into the behaviour we want. Increasingly, neuroscientists are starting to see—and even manipulate—the brain activity responsible for turning thoughts and feelings into actions. This work raises the tantalizing possibility that we could find more precise therapies for conditions like mood disorders and anxiety, compulsive behaviours, and addiction.
The ADHD nervous system is rarely at rest. It wants to be engaged in something interesting and challenging. Attention is never “deficit.” It is always excessive, constantly occupied with internal reveries and engagements. When people with ADHD are not in The Zone, in hyperfocus, they have four or five things rattling around in their minds, all at once and for no obvious reason, like five people talking to you simultaneously. Nothing gets sustained undivided attention. Nothing gets done well.
Personally, I have come to the conclusion that your WHY is your power. It is the drive, the fuel, the passion that propels you (and your business) forward. It can never be damaged, broken or taken away from you. But above all, it is your responsibility to nurture that WHY with every word you speak, every step you take and every decision you make. I encourage you to find your WHY – and become your greatest self.
Given this, it may be surprising to learn how powerful nature actually is, as revealed through the best available science. For example, research from across the world has found that people who are adopted tend to be more similar to their biological relatives than their adoptive relatives. Similarly, identical twins raised apart in separate environments often are amazingly similar (and often show greater similarities than even the non-biological siblings they were raised with). Thus, there appear to be strong biological predispositions that act on our behaviour. In fact, most scientists estimate that at least half of the explanation for why we are different from each other boils down to differences in genetic predispositions.
If you die tomorrow, what will you be remembered for? I’ll answer that question and tell you, unequivocally, the people that gave me love and helped me become the man I am today. Those people have left a legacy and a tremendous influence on my life. Their actions will echo throughout eternity.
My next article will be on when do we start learning? We will understand how we influence our unborn babies.
