Oppenheimer continues to amaze.

It took a couple of weeks after my IMAX run on Oppenheimer before the ASC finally released its full cinematography breakdown of the film.

It's even more impressive than I had originally thought.

I knew that Kodak 5222 lacked the remjet layer that modern, color films have -- I've actually shot on that stock several times. That was always gonna be an issue translating it to large format cinematography. IMAX even went so far to develop new pressure plates for their cameras to accommodate the black and white negatives.

Almost all of the lights were battery powered and controlled wirelessly.

Long story short -- it's incredible what they accomplished. Those are the basics of what they did to make the film.

They did it for half the budget of most of the Marvel videos that are coming out nowadays.
