The law of God and the immortality: If you obey all his decrees and commands, you will enjoy a long life

The Book of Deuteronomy tells us how Moses received the Decalogue on Mount Horeb and its promulgation by the legislator. Moses becomes the mediator between God and his people.
Moses, after announcing the ten commandments, exhorts the people to obey the law because it is a source of blessings; and a particularly important one, the spiritual gift of immortality: "Immortality will bring you close to God" Wisdom 6:19. God is immortal and can transmit to man in a limited way on the physical plane this gift, immortality in practical terms is long life or longevity. God gave longevity, the gift of immortality, according to the book of Genesis to many patriarchs, such as Lamech, Noah, Methuselah. A particularly notable case is that of Abraham, longevity is not only living longer, but also reaching a very old age with the physiological functions intact: "Abraham was a hundred years old when Isaac was born" Genesis 21:5.
God is not bad, he simply wants to inform man what the best decisions are, and in this case, follow his law with love and fear of the Lord (constancy, firmness, devotion); but the problem is that men have to choose and human beings have imperfections. God wants to bless us with all his heart so that we may be his beloved children, and he does so in the Book of Deuteronomy, exhorting us to be faithful:
"So be careful to do what the LORD your God has commanded you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left. Walk in obedience to all that the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.
These are the commands, decrees, and regulations that the LORD your God commanded me to teach you. You must obey them in the land you are about to enter and occupy, and you and your children and grandchildren must fear the LORD your God as long as you live. If you obey all his decrees and commands, you will enjoy a long life" Deuteronomy 5:32-6:2.
