Stop Shirking, Get Working... Impeachment Proceedings Should Still Be Considered

in impeach •  6 years ago

Here is my problem with taking impeachment off the table, to let the people decide in the 2020 election. If I witness crime in my neighborhood, I am supposed to call the authorities, not deal with it on my own, not legally anyway. To do that would be a crime in itself. In that way, to take impeachment off the table, would be a criminal act on the part of congress. Like the police telling the neighborhood, yeah we know the criminals are there, but we figure you will deal with them. Willfully shirking your duty by law.... well, isn't that an impeachable offense too?

But of course the whole point was that Donald Trump never committed any crimes, no matter how hard they tried to entrap him. The criminals are those behind the witchhunt.

Yeah, thru the looking glass in Fashitopia maybe.... when i have my copy of the Mueller Report next to my copies of the Starr Report, i will have the comfort to decide for myself ..... you can be spoon fed your opinions if that suits you. you do you, baby, you do you

But Clinton was actually impeached, Ken Starr said he committed 11 impeachable offenses, Muller said Trump didn't commit any. Prosecutors don't typically release salacious reports on people they don't actually accuse of crimes. Do you think the AG lied in his summary? I didn't need anything spoon fed to me, this witch hunt has been an obvious farce from the jump. You are really still thinking there is a there there? LOL

We are still uncertain as to what Mueller said... given lawyers prefer to win, it seems he may have opted to not ‘bring charges’, in the spirit of what the justice department could convict on. However, impeachmet procedings have a different set of parameters, both in what constitutes guilty, and what is an offense that is convictable. The same evidence might lead to a different conclusion... or, be evidence of yet other crimes outside the narrow perview of the special counsel

Nope. If there were any impeachable offenses committed by the president then that would have been the conclusion of the report but instead the report concluded that there was no criminal activity. It's funny to me that there are people still desperately clinging for hope onto something that has been an obvious farce from day one. Didn't you notice in the years of reporting on this how every single time they used the word "collusion" which is not a crime and doesn't really mean anything instead of the term "conspiracy"?
We know that the special council didn't limit himself to the crimes he was supposed to be investigating because of the charges against Manafort and others that had zero to do with their involvement in the campaign or Russian "collusion". After the full report is released will you proclaim that Trump is the legitimate president of the United States and has been all along and that there was a stupid political witch hunt to try to delegitimize him?
Or will you seamlessly shift to blathering about the SDNY investigation or whatever?

The scope of the investigation had nothing to do with impeachment, actually... separate institutions. Evidence found by one can be used by the other though, so stay tuned.... and sdny is its own thang

Nothing plus nothing is nothing.
So are you one of the 23% of Americans who didn't like Trump's State of the Union Address?
